One of the producers who worked with Daft Punk on their new album Random Access Memories is the iconic Giorgio Moroder.
Moroder had been working in the music business for more than a decade when he hooked up with budding star Donna Summer. It was Giorgio’s electronic beats that propelled Summer’s early records like Love to Love You Baby and I Feel Love and made Moroder an early pioneer of the disco sound. He also did extensive work in film, most notably the score for Midnight Express and, later, Flashdance, Top Gun and a new score for the silent era film Metropolis.
Here, Moroder talks about his career and his Daft Punk collaboration.
