Real Estate and Total Control are the final two bands to be added to the Golden Plains lineup, completing it after the lineup suffered the setback of dreamy band Low’s cancelation.
Real Estate are a New Jersey quintet that are known for their lush harmonies and catchy melodies. Earlier this year they signed to Domino Records for the release of their second album ‘Days’.
In contrast, Total Control are a garage punk band featuring Mikey Young of Eddy Current Supression Ring and The Ooga Boogas and UV Race’s Dan Stewart. According to the Aarght! Records website, the band are currently working on new material, “none of which sounds anything like [their debut] E.P.”.
The two bands speak volumes for the diverse and spectacular lineup already laid out for the sixth Golden Plains festival, which also includes:
Bon Iver, Wild Flag, Roky Erickson, Dexter, Charles Bradley, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, First Aid Kid, The Celibate Rifles, Canyons, Dexter, Wild Flag, DJ /Rupture, Lost Animal, Harmony, Two Bright Lakes DJs, Hunting Grounds, This Thing, Seekae, Naysayer and Gilsun, Kisstroyer, Lanie Lane, Urge Overkill, Black Lips, Roots Manuva, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, Urge Overkill, Endless Boogie and Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy featuring The Cairo Gang.
The festival takes place in Meredith, Victoria from March 10-12. Tickets are available by clicking here.
