GOP Wants Kid Rock To Run For Senate

by Roger Wink, VVN Music on February 16, 2017

in News

Wes Nakagiri, a Tea Party activist in Michigan, is pushing the idea that Kid Rock should run for the U.S. Senate in 2018.

Nakagiri, a former candidate for Michigan Lieutenant Governor and 2016 delegate to the Republican convention, was at this past weekend’s state GOP convention when he suggested Kid Rock (real name Robert Ritchie) could run against three-term senior senator Debbie Stabenow.

He told the Detroit Free Press “I’ll bet you he would generate as much excitement as Trump did” adding that Kid Rock had “name I.D., is an out-of-the-box idea, and would kind of get rid of the stodgy Republican image.”

Of course, this would be the less “stodgy” person who recorded songs like Fuck Off, Early Mornin’ Stoned Pimp, Abortion, 3 Sheets to the Wind (What’s My Name?), You Never Met a Motherfucker Quite Like Me, Cadillac Pussy and Cocaine and Gin.

Yup, that track list should certainly appeal to the rural voter.

So far, nobody from Kid Rock’s camp has commented on the suggestion.
