Gorillaz are preparing a singles compilation, designing sneakers for Converse, and doing a collaborative tune.
Pitchfork reports that the British cartoon band a designing four styles of Converse All Star for the company, and will also participate in their “Three Artists, One Song” project.
Artist Jamie Hewlett has designed the shoes; the first ones revealed look like some kind of glass shard camouflage.
Damon Albarn and musicians from Gorillaz will team up with two other artists to record a song for Converse, like the previous groupings of Julian Casablancas, Santigold, N.E.R.D; Best Coast, Kid Cudi, Rostam from Vampire Weekend; and Matt & Kim, Andrew WK and Soulja Boy.
They will also have their Singles Collection: 2001-2011 out at the end of this month, featuring 15 tracks, on CD, CD/DVD, and vinyl.
