Brisbane singer Grace Sewell as scored a prime showcase role in the second episode of the new season of NCIS: New Orleans.
Grace, the sister of singer-songwriter Conrad Sewell, had a UK and Australian hit with ‘You Don’t Own Me’, a cover of the Quincy Jones-penned 1963 hit for Lesley Gore. Jones also produced the Grace version of his song.
In NCIS New Orleans guest star Tom Arnold plays a hacker called Elvis. Grace is performing in Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) bar. “The music is great. How the hell did you pull that off?” says Elvis. “You’ve got to know Quincy,” says Dwayne.
Grace only had to learn three words for the show “Dude, he’s gone” but she did get to showcase her two songs ‘You Don’t Own Me’ and ‘Church On Sunday’.
Grace’s version of ‘You Don’t Own Me’ was used in Australia to promote the TV series ‘Love Child’. He was the backing for the UK advertisement for department store ‘House of Fraser’ and it was also included on the ‘Suicide Squad’ soundtrack.
