Gregg Allman has not entered Hospice despite the story being widely reported across the USA today.

Allman has set fans straight in a statement at his Facebook page:

“Hey everyone. I just wanted y’all to know that I’m currently home in Savannah resting on my doctor’s orders. I want to thank you for all the love that you are sending. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Keep Rockin’ “

Reports that the southern blues-rock legend had entered hospice started after radio station 97X in Davenport reported it and the story was picked up online by Relix magazine.

The story spread when country superstar Travis Tritt tweeted “Sending up prayers for my friend @GreggAllman. Praying for healing and a restoration of your health, my friend. God bless you!”
