Axl Rose and the latest iteration of the group are going where few rock acts have gone before, taking on a residency in Las Vegas. Motley Crue led the way earlier this year with a two week run of shows. Guns N’ Roses’ run will be for 12 shows.
They will be starting the Appetite for Democracy residency on October 31 and running through November 24 at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. They are promising material from their debut album through their latest, 2008’s Chinese Democracy.
Lisa Marie Presley’s famous friends came out to send her off. Axl Rose sang his Guns ‘n Roses classic ‘November Rain’, Billy Corgan performed an acoustic version of Smashing Pumpkins ‘To Sheila’ and Alanis Morissette performed her recent song ‘Rest’, written about Chester Bennington but appropriate in these circumstances.
After Perth, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, Guns N’ Roses Australian tour set up in Sydney on Sunday night (27 November 2022) with AC/DC’s ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’ added to the setlist.
