GWAR B-Q To Include Ice-T, Misfits

by Roger Wink, VVN Music on July 28, 2014

in News

The GWAR B-Q has announced a lineup that includes the Misfits, Ice-T and Bam Margera.

This year’s event is a bit bittersweet as the Dave Brockie Memorial will be held the day before, Friday, August 15 at Hadad’s Lake in Richmond, VA. Brockie, the lead vocalist of GWAR in the guise of Oderus Urungus, died on March 23 from an accidental heroin overdose. Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedys will be the Master of Ceremonies for a memorial that will also include a tribute to Brockie’s Urungus who will be given a full Viking funeral.

On August 16 at the same location, it’s the GWAR-B-Q which will include a long list of special appearances including horror punk icons The Misfits, rapper Ice-T, Hatebreed, the Meatmen’s Tasco Vee, Jackass and Viva La Bam’s Bam Margera, L.A. Ink’s Amy Nicoletto and John Russo, producer and co-writer of the original Night of the Living Dead. Also returning are former Slumdogs Slymenstra Hymen, Sleazy P. Martini and Sexecutioner!

Along with music, there will be a number of other special events including the “Spew-O-Lympics”, described as “a series of psychotic semi-aquatic contests judged by drunken idiots, pitting other drunken idiots against one another for valuable prizes and personal glory.”
