Gwen Stefani feels ‘overwhelmed’ if she thinks too far into the future.
The singer has reunited with her No Doubt bandmates for their new album Push and Shove. During a hiatus from the group, Gwen launched a successful solo career and started a family with her husband Gavin Rossdale.
The star is happy to take each day as it comes and has no plans when it comes to new work projects.
‘I feel like I can’t even think beyond today, you know, I am so in the moment of enjoying right now,’ she said during an interview with UK TV show This Morning. ‘It was such a hard record to make and to get to this part where it is coming out and we are getting to share it with people feels so good. I don’t even want to think about what else I want to do, that would overwhelm me as I have so much going on. I think right now we are just going to enjoy it.’
Gwen is hoping the band’s sixth studio album will be a hit with fans. She would love to go on the road and showcase the new material all over the world.
‘I think the next goal would be to go on tour and try places we have never been and play tons of shows,’ she explained. ‘There are so many places, we have been to Russia but I would love to go and do a real show there.’
The first single taken from Push and Shove was Settle Down.
Gwen is pleased with the track and believes it will remind fans what they love about No Doubt. However, she has no idea what other songs from the record will be chosen as singles.
‘We don’t really know what is going to happen with our singles,’ she admitted. ‘We have a say, but it is interesting that one [Settle Down] ended up being the first one because it’s really familiar and helps people get back into it. Then the record kind of goes all over the place like all our other records have.’
