Gyan will return to live performance to perform songs from her recent album ‘This Girl’s In Love’ on a national tour.
In 2014 Gyan turned to the fans to crowd fund ‘This Girls In Love’. She then recorded the album with Simon Greaves in Byron Bay.
‘This Girls In Love’ is torch ballad versions of songs by Tom Waits, Neil Young, John Lennon, Burt Bacharach and Henry Mancini as well as a reimagined version of her own 1989 hit ‘Wait’.
“It was a strange kind of education, singing someone else’s material, putting on their masterful jackets. But songs we remembered fondly turned out to be bombastic when we revisited them, so we’ve made the production of ‘This Girl’s In Love’ come from the place where we live now artistically. There’s a dream-like quality to our approach to going back in time,” Gyan said in a statement.
‘This Girls In Love’ is Gyan’s first album in five years.
