Music retailers around Australia are today celebrating Record Store Day.
Artists are heading to stores to perform and meet fans. Record labels have special Record Store Day releases for sale and music retailers are planning in-store parties to celebrate the event.
Your job is to just be there.
In Adelaide, The Audreys will be at Blackwood Sound at 1pm to play. Megan Washington is heading to Hum on King in Newtown in Sydney, Graeme Connors will perform at Murray Neck Leading Edge in Alice Springs at 11.30am, Jeff Martin from The Tea Party will be at 78 Records in Perth to play live while at Discurio in Melbourne they are celebrating with Jazz Day.
If music isn’t good enough enticement to go to a record store, then Leading Edge Music in Sale is attracting people in with chocolate cake while Songland Records in Canberra has a 25% discount today for any of their Facebook friends.
Other artists performing in stores today are Spectrum at Quality Records, Malvern, Deep Sea Arcade will be at Red Eye in Sydney and Ben Salter is at Fat Shan Records in Perth.
Damien Leith is going on a record store day crawl with instores in Sydney at Wow Leichhardt at 11am, St Marys at 1pm and Richmond Records at 2.30pm.
Special limited editions have been released today from The Beatles, Paul Simon, Ozzy Osbourne, David Bowie, Willie Nelson, Jezabels and Janis Joplin.
