The Harlem School of the Arts will name their main building of musician and executive Herb Alpert.
The Herb Alpert Center will honor the generosity of Alpert, his wife Lani Hall and the Herb Alpert Foundation which have been instrumental since 2010 in the rebuilding of the school after it was forced to close.
The naming of the Hamilton Heights building will be on Monday, March 11 at 11 A.M. (ET) with guests Alpert, Hall, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, the school’s president and CEO Yvette Campbell, actress Phylicia Rashad and N’Kenge, who graduated from the school and is in the upcoming Motown: The Musical.
