Has Ed Sheeran Ripped Off Live Side-Project with Blow

by Paul Cashmere on July 9, 2019

in News

Ed Sheeran’s new song ‘Blow’ sounds remarkably like Live side-project The Gracious Few’s ‘Honest Man’.

The Gracious Few was three members of Live, Chad Taylor, Patrick Delheimer and Chad Gracey with two members of Candlebox, Kevin Martin and Sean Henney.

Sheeran created his “new” song ‘Blow’ with Chris Stapleton and Bruno Mars. It sounds blatantly ripped off from the 2010 The Gracious Few song ‘Honest Man’.

In 2018 Sheeran found himself in a similar legal predicament over Aussie Jasmine Rae’s ‘When I Found You’ and his ‘The Rest of our Life’. Rae’s songwriters Sean Carey and Beau Golden cited an almost note for note rip-off of their song. The case was settled out of court in November 2018 for an undisclosed amount.

Sheeran has also faced plagiarism charges from the estate of Marvin Gaye for similarities for his ‘Thinking Out Loud’ and Gaye’s ‘Let’s Get It On’ and for copying Matt Cardle’s Amazing’ for his our ‘Photograph’.
