A 2004 Carnegie Hall live performance by David Byrne and Caetano Veloso finally gets a release and samples go up online.
Talking Heads frontman David Byrne and Brazilian music icon Caetano Veloso got together on stage at Carnegie Hall during Veloso’s residency in 2004, with Jaques Morelenbaum on cello and Mauro Refosco on percussion.
They performed individual Veloso, Byrne and Talking Heads tracks, as well as the collaborative track ‘Dreamworld: Marco de Canaveses’.
The night was captured and the recording has finally been released after what Byrne dubbed “Record business nonsense” on BoingBoing.
The 18-track Live At Carnegie Hall recording has just been issued via NoneSuch Records and you can hear samples of the tracks and buy the album at the NoneSuch site here.
