London Police have confirmed that they have arrested an “82-year old high-profile Australian entertainer” in their continuing investigation into sexual abuse of children related to the late Jimmy Savile.
Channel 7 news in Australia is reporting that “a high profile Australian entertainer has been arrested in London on suspicion of committing sexual offences by officer’s probing the sex crimes of the late Jimmy Savile,” but falls short of naming the person for legal reasons.

According to 7 News, “he has faced court, bailed and is scheduled to appear again in court in May pending further police enquiries”.
The investigation into Pedophile Savile has so far led to the arrest of singer Gary Glitter, comedians Jim Davidson and Freddie Starr, radio presenter Stuart Hall.
The high-profile Australia is the 11th person arrested so far in the investigation.
Savile died in October, 2011 before charges against him were laid.
