Hillary Clinton is a huge rock music fan and confessed to Howard Stern about her love for The Beatles and the Rolling Stones.
She told Stern who her favourite Beatle was. “It was always Paul,” she said. “I go way back with Paul. You put on The White Album and listen to that and you learn something every time. Its unreal. I find their music to not be part of my past. There is a lot of music that is my past but this is my past, my present and my future.”
While she admits being a big rock fan she says she never went to a Led Zeppelin concert. “But I went to the first ever Rolling Stones concert that ever came to Chicago back in the early to mid 60s”
Stern asked if she thought they were the greatest rock band ever. “They are amazing. Their staying power, their stamina. It is inspiration to people like us”.
She has met Mick Jagger, Stern hasn’t. “Mick is a really pragmatic guy. I first met him in The White House. When you are in The White House you can invite anyone to come and see you,” she tells Stern. “My mother loved The Rolling Stones. The Rolling Stones were at The Beacon Theatre. Scorsese was filming. I brought my mother. Do you know who her favourite was? Keith Richards. Because my mother loved Keith Richards we asked if he would call her on her birthday and he did. It was like the best birthday she ever had”.
