The songwriting team of Holland-Dozier-Holland (Eddie Holland, Lamont Dozier and Brian Holland) received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame during a ceremony on Friday.
Joining the three songwriters were Motown chairman Berry Gordy, former Supreme Mary Wilson, Stevie Wonder and Ne-Yo.
The trio of writers came together at Motown Records during the early 60’s and created some of the most enduring songs of the last fifty years. They left the label in 1967 after a dispute with Gordy and wrote for a number of years under the name Edythe Wayne while litigation was ongoing. They also started Invictus and Hot Wax Records.
