Sir Richard Branson, Petula Clark, Harry Connick, Jr., Ice T, Snoop Dogg, Carrie Underwood and “Weird Al” Yankovic will receive stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame during 2018.
Mary J. Blige was the first music star to get an award this year. Her star was awarded in January 11.
The Walk of Fame selection committee has named the names for 2018 but not the dates for the inductions. Generally, event dates are revealed 10 days ahead of time.
Branson, Connick, Clark, Ice T, Snoop Dogg and Yankovic will be honoured for their work in Recording but another musician, Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols will also be awarded a star.
Jones is being recognised for his work on radio with his show Jonesy’s Jukebox, not for his rebellious sounds with UK punk band The Sex Pistols.
Another singer, tenor Mandy Patinkin, received a star on February 12 for his work in Television, not Recording. French superstar Charles Aznavour will receive his star in the category of Live Theatre/Live Performance.
Australia will be represented when Steve Irwin is granted a posthumous star for his work in Television.
