The Hoodoo Gurus are heading to Tasmania today to play for the Mona Bushfire Appeal and then another Dig It Up tour will get underway.
Dave Faulkner said today, “We’re on our way to Hobart for Brian Ritchie’s Bushfire Appeal Concert tonight at PW1 (Princes Wharf Shed 1), benefitting the victims of the recent (and ongoing) bushfires in Tasmania.
“It’s a rare treat for us to be back in Tassy so soon after playing the A Day On The Green show recently in Launceston. Don’t be complacent about that, Taswegians, it’ll probably be a long time before we get back down again if recent history is any indication. We’ll chuck a few different songs in tonight too just to mix things up a bit (got any requests?).
“I’m still unable to give any concrete details about Dig It Up Tour yet (FEEL Presents would kill me if I did) but those dates I gave before are approximately correct so if you live overseas and are planning to come then the last half of April is your target. What I can say is we’re very excited again by the line-up that has been confirmed and can confidently state it is maintaining the standard of last year (I won’t say it’s better because how can you improve on perfection?!)
“As I warned everyone last year and I was proven correct, this will be the gig of the year.
“Ditto!!!”
Expect news on Dig It Up soon.
Today’s Bushfire Appeal Concert at Princes Wharf in Hobart will also feature Evan Dando, Kate Miller-Heidke, Spencer P Jones, Neil Gainman, Jherek Biscoff and Taiko Drum.
