Hot Chip have revealed ‘Need You Now’, the second track to come from their forthcoming album Why Make Sense? to be released in May.
Directed by Shynola, the accompanying ‘Need You Now’ video sees Alexis Taylor facing the aftermath of a breakup and battling with… himself.
The follow-up to 2012’s In Our Heads, Hot Chip’s sixth studio album, Why Make Sense? was recorded in Oxfordshire and London and produced by the band in collaboration with Mark Ralph. Via a bespoke printing technique which has never been used before, every copy of Why Make Sense? will be 100% unique, with both the CD and vinyl LP to be created in 501 different colours. Combined with subtle variations of the design, this means every copy of the album will feature completely unique artwork.
To be released on Friday May 15, Why Make Sense? will see Hot Chip undertake an extensive world tour, with appearances at Sasquatch, The Governers Ball, T In The Park, Lovebox, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands and Electric Picnic already announced.
Why Make Sense? will be available on all standard formats as well as a Special Edition available for a limited time only, featuring a bonus Separate EP with four further tracks recorded during the album sessions.
