Hunters & Collectors powerhouse trumpet play Jack Howard has released another solo record with his side-project The Long Lost Brothers.
‘Day Of The Dog’ comes 15 months about Jack’s previous album ‘The Story So Far’.
The Long Lost Brothers are bass player Mark Ferrie (Models), Pedal Steel Ed Bates (The Sports), guitarist Nicky Del Rey (Intoxica) and drummer Cal McAlpine (The Large Number 12s).
Jack and the band recorded the album at Melbourne’s Hothouse Studio in St Kilda.
Jack is also a member of The Break with Brian Richie of the Violent Femmes and Rob Hirst, Jim Moginie and Martin Rotsey of Midnight Oil. “On Day of the Dog Jack Howard delivers 12 sweet’n’soulful slices of romance,” Rob Hirst says. “Boasting a gun band and featuring a career best vocal performance, Jacks’s album veers from dark 60s sounding pop to brassy show tunes and deep rock. Superb”.
Jack Howard & The Long Lost Brothers will showcase ‘Day Of The Dog’ with free performances at Pure Pop Records in St Kilda on April 18, 25 and May 2.
They will also perform their own gigs at:
April 13, Brunswick, Retreat Hotel
June 27, Oakleigh, Caravan Club
