Hunters & Collectors Win Helpmann Award

Hunters & Collectors have picked up a Helpmann Award for Best Australian Contemporary Concert at the Helpmann’s event in Sydney on Monday night.

Hunters & Collectors reunion shows were up against Tame Impala, Flume and the Australian Chamber Orchestra. Hunters & Collectors toured for Frontier Touring and Roundhouse Entertainment.

Frontier also scored the win for Best International Contemporary Concert for Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band’s 2014 Australian tour. Springsteen beat Eddie Vedder, Beyonce and Pink.

Bluesfest once again won Best Contemporary Music Festival beating Laneway, Vivid and Fall Festival.

The Helpmann Awards, named after Sir Robert Helpmann, recognise distinguished artistic achievement and excellence in the many disciplines of Australia’s vibrant live performance sectors, including musical theatre, contemporary music, comedy, cabaret, opera, classical music, theatre, dance and physical theatre. The Helpmann Awards also incorporate the JC Williamson and Sue Nattrass Awards for outstanding contribution to the Australian live performance industry.
