Melbourne band Husky have become the first Australian band ever to sign with Seattle’s Sub Pop Records.
Sub Pop was the original home of Nirvana and Soundgarden and today houses Fleet Foxes, Beach House and The Head.
“Sub Pop is enamoured with the Melbourne quartet, Husky,” says President of Sub Pop Jonathan Poneman. “The band’s strength rests in its infectious, evocative songs and stirring live performances.”
In 2011, Husky joined Michael Gudinski’s Liberation Records in Australia and released their debut album ‘Forever So’.
Husky will showcase at SXSW in Austin in March and also play Canadian Music Week as well as sows in New York City and Los Angeles.
