After many furious denials, reports have emerged that the reunion of Madchester kings The Stone Roses is finally happening.

Fifteen years after the band last played, it appears that the long-rumoured (and much denied) Stone Roses reunion is on, according to a pal of Ian Brown.

The Sun claim that Brown’s magician friend ‘Dynamo’ received a text from the singer that read “We are going to rule the world again. It’s happening”.

Shaun Ryder of the Happy Mondays joked to The Sun, “It has been coming for a while. It’s amazing what a divorce will make you do”, referring to Brown’s recent split from his wife.

It’s purported to be a full reunion, with Brown, guitarist John Squire, as well as Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield and Alan ‘Reni’ Wren.

Guy Garvey of Elbow had apparently been telling friends that the band have been rehearsing over the last couple of months.

This news follows months of angry denials from Brown after every bit of speculation. We’ll just have to wait and see.
