Ian Molly Meldrum got through last night with no deterioration in his condition, his manager Mark Klemens has announced.
Klemens was on Channel 7 this morning and said, “I think the fact that the night went through well is positive and there has been no deterioration”.
Molly is in a stable but critical condition after falling off a ladder while hanging Christmas decorations at his Richmond home on Thursday.
His brother Brian Meldrum yesterday confirmed Molly has a fractured skull, broken shoulder, broken ribs, a punctured lung and cracks to his vertebrae.
He was taken to The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne in a coma and doctors are keeping him in an induced coma until early next week to allow swelling in the brain to go down.
Fans worldwide have gone to Twitter and Facebook to show their support for Ian. The Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, Boy George, Kylie Minogue, Ricky Martin, Natalie Imbruglia and David Bowie have all sent their best wishes to one of Australia’s most iconic celebrities.
