Ian Molly Meldrum is gradually improving day by day but it will be a long time before he is back on his feet.
“He is not fighting for his life anymore. He is fighting to get well,” his friend and assistant Yael Cohn tells Noise11.com. “So far so good. The next step is to get him out of Intensive care and into the ward”.
Yael said doctors are “continuously happy with how he is progressing. He is no longer on the life-threatening list. We are moving to the next phase.”
Molly even “cracked a smile the other day,” she said.
Molly fell from a ladder at his Richmond home on December 15 and is being treated at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne. He suffered a fractured skull, broken shoulder and broken ribs.
Doctors operated of his broken shoulder and ribs on December 22 to great success.
He is still not talking in sentences but has muttered the occasional word. His condition is still serious but stable.
