The story behind the horrendous accident that has kept Ian Molly Meldrum in hospital since before Christmas and probably for a good part of this year will be told on Channel 7’s ‘Sunday Night’ program.
Molly’s friend and long-term personal assistant and his brother Brian Meldrum will talk in depth about what happened on that fateful night when Molly fell from a ladder while hanging Christmas decorations.
The music guru was rushed to The Alfred Hospital where he was treated for a head injury, fractured vertebrae, broken shoulder and broken ribs.
Molly is now recovering at the Epworth near his home in Richmond but is expected to be at the hospital for many months to come while he mends during rehab.
During the program, Yael will reveal to Sunday Night that Molly’s long term memory is good but the short-term memory is still patchy.
The positive message of that he has total recall of his past. He is yet to regain the present.
Molly is expected to eventually return to full health but for now the 66-year old is dealing with short-term memory loss, disorientation and post-traumatic amnesia.
Yael revealed how he has no recollection whatsoever of the accident.
The Sunday Night program will air at 6.30pm February 12.
