The condition of Ian Molly Meldrum is continuing to improve and has been upgraded this morning from ‘critical’ to ‘serious but stable’.
Doctors yesterday reduced the medication of the music guru to slowly bring him out of the induced coma he had been in since Thursday. Tests were positive showing Ian is recovering from his injuries slowly. It will still before some days before his sedation wears off.
Each day we are hearing of slight improvements but Molly is still in a bad way and has months of recovery in front of him.
Ian’s manager Mark Klemens told 3AW this morning that Molly has been placed on a ventilator and will stay that way for a number of days. Surgery is also planned now for his shoulder and chest area.
“It is still very serious,” Klemens said.
Mark also reports that Molly has opened his eyes but just for seconds for a very small time.
Meanwhile, Molly fans can start sending their words of support through to 0428 520347 between 9am and 12:30pm today (December 21)and the messages will start to be displayed on the big screen at Federation Square from 11am and then sent to The Alfred Hospital where Molly is undergoing treatment.
