iHeartMedia is continuing to expand their list of festivals with the inaugural iHeart80’s Party, to be held on February 20, 2016 at the L.A. Forum.
Signed for the event are 80’s hitmakers Culture Club with Boy George (Do You Really Want to Hurt Me, Karma Chameleon), Billy Idol (Mony Mony, Eyes Without a Face), Rick Springfield (Jessie’s Girl, I’ve Done Everything For You), Loverboy (Working For the Weekend, Turn Me Lose) and Missing Persons (Words, Destination Unknown).
iHeartMedia has also said that an additional lineup of some of today’s biggest stars will also be on the bill performing in collaborations with the artists and covers of 80’s classics.
John Sykes, president of iHeartMedia, said “The ‘80s brought the United States our second British invasion which also inspired a new generation of American artists to create music that still resonates strong 30 years later. This one night only event will bring some of the greatest songs ever written to fans who grew up with them as well as those who are just now discovering this era that changed our culture forever.”
Tom Poleman, President of National Programming, added “From music to fashion to the birth of the millennial generation, the ‘80s are back and hotter than ever. It is the perfect time to recapture the carefree, ‘work hard, play harder’ attitude of the ‘80s with an incredible night bringing together the past and the present of music.”
iHeartMedia radio stations will begin giving away trips to Los Angeles for the festival starting on January 11. Tickets go on sale on December 18 at 10 AM PST.
