Within 48 hours of the Australian Radio Network launching the iHeartRADIO mobile app the app has become the number one free app in Australia.
The Australian Radio Network (ARN) launched iHeartRADIO in Australia last month after the service became available through parent company Clear Channel in the USA two years ago.
Through iHeartRADIO, Australian’s can now listen live to over 1000 radio stations from Australia, New Zealand and the USA as well as create customised stations from a library of 16 million songs and 400,000 artists.
“Since the App launched last week, we’ve seen a 75% increase in overall registrations. Now listeners can use one, simple login to access their favourite stations across mobile, tablet and computer. And all users will be able to get ready for this weekend’s iHeartRadio music festival on all these devices,” says says ARN’s National Digital Director Kate Beddoe. “Going to #1 is a great start for us, and with this success driven by the on-air and online advertising on ARN assets, iHeartRadio continues to be a great case study for the promotional power of radio”.
ARN, a joint venture between Clear Channel Broadcasting and APN News & Media, has a multiple brand strategy – a MixFM and Classic Hits music stream in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane. Reaching over 4 million listeners, ARN is one of the leading broadcasters in the commercially important 25 – 54 demographic in Australia.
The iHeartRADIO app is free to download from iTunes and Google Play stores.
