The Australian Radio Network has revealed an innovative new listener driven chart form iHeartRadio to air on The Edge 96.ONE.
The iHeartRadio Thumbs Up chart will drill data from the “thumbs up” function in the iHeartRadio app to compile the most popular songs of the day based on iHeartRadio listener feedback.
“The use of up-to-the-minute data given by iHeartRadio users, is an amazing way to immediately integrate their tastes on The Edge,” ARN’s Chief Operating Officer & Head of iHeartRadio Geraint Davies said in a statement.
The chart will then be broadcast on ARN’s The Edge with the Top 9 at 9 (am and pm), Top 3 at 3 (pm), Top 4 at 4 (pm) and Top 5 (at 5pm).
“It also provides us with solid information regarding what Australian listeners are currently listening to and loving, and this in turn goes on to influence The Edge’s and other ARN station’s playlists,” Geraint said.
The Edge 96.ONE targets 18-29 year olds and is broadcast in Sydney’s Greater West on 96.1FM as well as on DAB+ in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. It can also be heard worldwide on iHeartRadio.
The iHeartRadio mobile app is available for download in the iTunes and Google Play app stores.
