Irish singer/songwriter Ciaran Gribbin is the new lead singe of INXS replacing JD Fortune who recently departed the band for a second time.
Gribbin was given a “soft launch” over the weekend when the band uploaded the new song ‘Tiny Summer’ to their website. Many, including your old pals here at Noise11.com, were convinced that the ‘Tiny Summer’ singer could have been Bono, a close friend of original singer Michael Hutchence.
However the band has finally come clean to reveal Gribbin as their front-man.
Gribbin has worked with Paul McCartney, Snow Patrol and Madonna. He co-wrote the Madonna song ‘Celebration’ with Paul Oakenfold. He also wrote and recorded the original music for the film ‘Killing Bono’.
“I’m currently writing more songs for INXS with Ciaran, and we hope to share more new music with you as soon as possible,” Andrew Farriss says at inxs.com.
“It’s all so amazing and sometimes overwhelming, especially when I look up and see my writing partner is one of the greatest songwriters of our time,” Gribbin added.
INXS are planning shows this November.
