The INXS mini-series aired its first half last Sunday night to 2 million+ viewers, which has stimulated most of their albums this week, plus their current No.45 single “Never Tear us Apart” could leap into the higher end of the Top 30 this weekend.
In the lower end down INXS could dominate with returns of the following tracks; “Need You Tonight” (Top 40), “Original Sin” (Top 80), “By My Side”, “Beautiful Girl”, “New Sensation” and 1981’s “Don’t Change” (Top 90).
It might turn out to be a one-week-wonder for “Say Something” by A Great Big World featuring Christina Aguilera, as it’s battling for the top spot in Australia this week with “Happy” by Pharrell Williams, the first No.1 for the year, so at the moment it’s too close to call it (yet).
“Take Me Home” by US dance group Cash Cash rose a single place to No.33 this week, but now it looks like it might jump up into the top five this weekend, whilst Kim Cesarion and “Undressed” could leave it’s four-weeks-in-the-lower-twenty run and jump into the Top 10 this weekend. Retaining their Top 10 status should be John Legend, Rudimental & Emeli Sande, Rihanna, Avicii, Magic and Joel Fletcher with Savage.
For the third week, “Rather Be” by Clean Bandit feat Jess Glynne is at No.1 in the UK, and this past week it debuted at No.54, but for the coming weekend chart, it might leap into the Top 15, as too might American Authors with their first chart entry “Best Day of My Life” (TW-24). Sara Bareilles leaped to No.40 (up from #96) with “Brave”, which again might make a mighty leap this week, possibly into the Top 20, whilst the Alesso remix of OneRepublic’s “If I Lose Myself” (TW a re-entry #42) could also land within the twenty.
Ahead of Eminem’s tour, his current single “Headlights” (TW-36) could climb a little higher, whilst debuting within the Top 40 this week could be the new Chet Faker track “Talk is Cheap” and the fourth solo single for Lea Michele “You’re Mine”. Potentially entering within the Top 50 we could Ryan Keen with “Old Scars”, “I Spy” for Mikhael Paskalev (TW-96) jumping into the fifty and also debuting in the same region could be Afrojack with Wrabel and their track “Ten Feet Tall”.
Lower 50: Zedd look set to return with guest vocalists Matthew Koma and Miriam Bryant on the song “Find You” and new four-piece girl band Neon Jungle with their song “Braveheart”, both tracks possibly entering within the Top 60. Other potential entries could come via “Waves (Robin Schulz Radio Edit)” by Mr. Probz (Top 80), the currently used in several ads “Pumpin’ Blood” (HP-63, Sept 2013) by NoNoNo could re-enter (Top 90) and we might also see hard rockers The Architects enter with “Broken Cross”.
Albums:
With the INXS mini-series creating massive TV ratings on Sunday night, it looks like an INXS albums onslaught for this coming weekends Album charts.
This past week the 76 week running “The Very Best” album climbed to a new peak of No.4 on the ARIA Albums Chart, and this weekend it could take over the top spot, as there are three versions of the album selling at the moment, and if it does reach the top, it’ll be the longest climb to No.1 on the ARIA Albums Chart ever, beating the 69 weeks that Janet Jackson took to reach the top with “Rhythm Nation 1814”. The bands biggest worldwide album from 1987, “Kick” (HP-2) looks set for a Top 5 return too, whilst the just re-issued set “Live at Wembley Stadium” (HP-3, aka ‘Live Baby Live’, Nov 1991) could also be back within the Top 10. Further INXS albums expected to return to the charts this week are 1984’s “The Swing” and 1982’s “Shabooh Shoobah” (Top 40) and 1985’s “Listen Like Thieves” (Top 50).
The new John Butler Trio album “Flesh & Blood” looks set to debut at No.3, whilst HAIM’s recent shows here could boost their “Days are Gone” (TW-19) album back into the Top 10, whilst staying in the Top 10 this week could be Beyonce, Avicii, Lorde, the Frozen Soundtrack and Bruce Springsteen.
Broken Bells’ new album “After the Disco” could debut within the Top 20, whilst new tourist Dolly Parton, who kicked off the week doing lots of interviews for her current shows, could see her first Top 10 album “Blue Smoke” being joined on the charts by the compilation album “The Very Best of” (Top 40).
Other new entries for the week could include Neil Finn with “Dizzy Heights” and The Glitch Mob with “Love, Death, Immortality” (both Top 50 entries). The new UK No.1 album “So Long, See You Tomorrow” by Bombay Bicycle Club could land within our Top 60, with further entries coming via the self titled album for The Dead Daisies and “Room for Light” by Ryan Keen (Top 70), “Sun Structures” by Temples (Top 90) and “Overcomer” by Prepared Like a Bride (Top 100).
