The band Iron Maiden have launched legal action against the creators of computer game Ion Maiden for trademark infringement.
Iron Maiden wants $2 million from the company 3D Realms in statutory damages and compensation claiming the ION Maiden logo is almost identical to the Iron Maiden logo.
Iron Maiden own their logo for merchandise as well as music. They registered the trademark in the USA on 27 November, 1984.
3D Realms made the Duke Nukem computer game series so they are not short of a buck.
ION Maiden, the computer game, has been in the market since Feb 2018.
