Willie Nelson’s new covers album of Frank Sinatra songs is nothing new for Willie. Sinatra and Nelson go back a long way.

In 1980 Willie Nelson and Frank Sinatra made a series of Public Service Announcements together for NASA.

“Someone asked us to do this commercial together about space and I said why not and he said why not?,” Willie told Colbert.

13 years later Willie and Frank teamed up again for a duet of ‘My Way’ for Sinatra’s ‘Duets’ album. The track was only released on the North America edition. The rest of the world was treated to the same song but with Pavarotti.

“I did ‘My Way’ on his album many years ago,” Willie said. “We’d been friends a long time”.

Willie Nelson performed ‘Summer Wind’ from his Sinatra covers ‘My Way’ album for Stephen Colbert.
