Guy Sebastian has confirmed that he will not be returning as a judge on Australia’s X Factor this year.

Sebastian broke the news to Rosso on MixFM in Sydney this afternoon.

‘I’m not doing X Factor this year,” he said. “This is the first time I am actually saying it. I’ll put a tweet out sometime today. I decided a while back that I wouldn’t be able to do it. I absolutely love the show but I just really have to get back to what my life is about and that is obviously my music and writing an being creative”.

Guy Sebastian joined The X Factor as a judge for the 2010, 2011 and 2012 seasons.

His most recent album ‘Armageddon’ reached number 1 on the ARIA chart and was the 9th biggest selling album of 2012 in Australia.
