The City of Geelong will be treated at a brand new live music venue in March and Jake Clemons from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band is the first act to be announced.
The venue is The Workers Club Geelong.
Jake Clemons has been booked at The Workers Club Geelong on March 29, 2015. Another 30 acts will soon be announced.
The Workers Club Geelong will be strictly a live music venue. There will be no cover bands and no DJs allowed through the door. There will be no TV except for Geelong Cats games.
This year APRA revealed postcode 3216 (Geelong surrounds) had the highest percentage growth of royalty earning songwriters in Australia in almost 10 years. “The regional scene is alive and well but in need of genuine live original music venues who can facilitate this positive growth,” says club co-owner John O’Brien. “We all call Geelong home and are proud of what this city represents. It is more than a manufacturing hub and there is a cultural scene down here that is about to explode.”
The Workers Club philosophy: Indulge in some amazing tunes with fellow music lovers, chow down on good grub, drink interesting beers, ciders, local vino and then safely retire to your beds satisfied, cultured, content and full of good vibes
The Workers Club Geelong is at 90-92 Little Malop Street, Geelong.
