James Corden Reflects On First Carpool Karaoke With George Michael

George Michael inspired James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke segment and it all started for charity.

Corden was a UK-based comedian in 2011 and created what to become the very first Carpool Karaoke sketch for Comic Relief.

James Corden recalled how George was in Australia at the time when they put the idea to him. He spent on hour on the phone from Australia talking to James about the comedy piece.

Corden said that after he scored his US talk-show role he introduced Carpool Karaoke to America. The first artist to say yes Mariah Carey who did it because “if it is good enough for George it is good enough for me”.

Since then the who’s who of music have lined up for Carpool Karaoke including Stevie Wonder, Madonna, Lady Gaga and Red Hot Chili Peppers.
