James Reyne is about to embark on the next best thing to an Australian Crawl reunion. While a Crawl reunion is impossible due to the death of two members, a show dedicated to the music of Australian Crawl by the lead singer will happen in August.
Australian Crawl disbanded in 1986 after four studio albums and the ‘Semantics’ EP. They played their final show at Perth Entertainment Centre on February 1, 1986.
The band lost Guy McDonough in June, 1984 from viral pneumonia. he was 28. Keyboard player Brad Robinson died in October 1996 from lymphoma. He was 38.
James Reyne will give fans their first taste of an all-Crawl show in 28 years when he tours ‘The Crawl Files Live in August. ‘Over the years we have often been asked if this could ever happen? Now is the time. You will never see Australian Crawl again. It just isn’t possible. This is the next best thing. We’re playing ‘ALL CRAWL’.”
