Jamie Lawson has used an episode of the hit TV show ‘The Big Bang Theory’ as the basis for one of the songs on his upcoming self-titled album.
The song is titled ‘The Only Conclusion’. “‘The Only Conclusion’ is probably my favourite song on the record. It’s come about because I watched an episode of ‘The Big Bang Theory’. People are going to be very upset by that,” Jamie tells Noise11.com.
Jamie was watching the episode ‘The Prom Equivalency’ from the last series when the words of Sheldon Cooper inspired his song. “Basically Sheldon is struggling to understand his feelings with Amy Farrar-Fowler and he says something like ‘I’ve gone through all the options. The only conclusion is love’ and that was him admitting he was able to do that. I thought that was brilliant ‘The only conclusion is love’. I think I went straight to the piano and started writing that”. It’s just weird how things come about,” he said.
The song will feature on the ‘Jamie Lawson’ album, due in October, so no-one from the show would have heard the song yet or approached him about using it in an episode. “That would be amazing. Wouldn’t that be amazing?, Jamie said.
Jamie Lawson is the first signing to Ed Sheeran’s new Gingerbread Man Records label. The Lawson also will be the first album release for the label.
