The 2014 CBGB Festival in New York will host a number of music showcases including performances by Jane’s Addiction and DEVO.
The now annual festival mixes film premiers, live music events and speakers at venues throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn including Times Square, Center 548, Bowery Electric, City Winery, Pianos, Knitting Factory and more. This year’s festival runs from Wednesday, October 8 through Sunday, October 12.
Jane’s Addiction will celebrate the 25th anniversary of their Nothing’s Shocking with a full performance of the album while Devo will bring their unconventional music and show to the festival stage. Other artists set to perform are Robert DeLong, Surfer Blood, We Are Scientists, Macy Gray and Cheeky Parade along with a long list of up-and-coming artists.
The CBGB Film Festival will present a number of movies and documentaries of interest to fans of veteran artists including Hardcore Devo Live, a 30th anniversary showing of This is Spinal Tap, Like Sunday Like Rain with the acting debut of Green Day’s Billy Joe Armstrong, Music City U.S.A., Salad Days: The Birth of Punk in the Nation’s Capital and The Winding Stream the story of the Cashs and the Carters.
Additional announcements, including keynote speakers and the CBGB Icon Award honoree, will be made in the next few weeks.
