Japanese band Bo Ningen has become the first act to sign with brand new Australian record label Black Night Crash Records.
Jonny O’Hara and Jordan Barczak founded Black Night Crash Records as the extension to their indie rock night Black Night Crash, held at Fitzroy’s Rochester Castle. The Black Night Crash nights are Melbourne longest running and most successful indie rock night.
Over the past six years O’Hara and Barczak have built Black Night Crash into one of Melbourne’s buzz clubs. “We were happy enough spinning a few tunes for friends but to see the club grow, and having opened the Book Club Band Room with bands the caliber of Splashh, Apes and The Love Junkies playing our venue, it’s been amazing to build a multi-level rock n roll club, promoting the bands we love,” Barczak said.
The record label was the natural extension and Japan’s Bo Ningen was the ideal first signing. “I saw Bo Ningen at Fuji Rock and they completely blew me away,” O’Hara said. “These guys are absolutely wild and I can’t wait to catch them again when they hit Australia in January as part of the upcoming Big Day Out tour”.
Bo Ningen’s ‘Line The Wall’ album will be released in Australia on January 17, 2014, in time for their first Big Day Out show. Their debut album, previously unreleased in Australia, will be added to the initial release as a bonus disc. The album will also include the bonus track ‘Nichijyou’ featuring Savages lead singer Jehnny Beth.
