Jarvis Cocker has accepted a job as a book editor for Faber and Faber.
The Pulp singer will work as editor-at-large for the publishing house on a two-year contract.
Faber and Faber is about to release Jarvis’ book ‘Mother, Brother, Lover’. The book is described as “a thirty-year tour into the life, art and preoccupations” of the author. “It is a beautiful collection of lyrics and commentary,” according to Faber and Faber.
Cocker is not the first rock star appointed to the role at the company. In 1980 Pete Townshend of The Who had the gig.
Jarvis’ first day at the new office will be in January.
