The singer’s Nuyorican Productions produces the series with Al Roker Entertainment, owned by the Today show weatherman.

The Spike TV show follows a bounty hunter named Tat-2 as he tracks down elusive criminals in New Orleans.

According to TMZ, a 19-year-old man featured in the series says he was falsely accused of being a criminal on the programme.

Everette Draughn filed suit in Louisiana against Jennifer and Al, claiming he was targeted in a ‘nationally-televised manhunt’ after he was branded a grand theft auto suspect and a fugitive, the website reports.

The plaintiff’s episode aired in April.

Jennifer and Al do not feature in the series. But Everette’s lawsuit claims the producers are responsible for the mix-up.

He claims the show ruined his reputation and he also sustained injuries in the hunt. The suit claims he was bullied into signing a release.

Everette is seeking unspecified damages in the case.

A spokesman for the producers have not replied to request for comment.

Spike TV will not comment on pending litigation.
