Jessica Mauboy will headline the Birdsville Big Bash in 2017.
“I’m so thrilled to be heading way outback to Birdsville next July to perform on the red sands of the Simpson Desert,” Jessica says.
“It will be a very special experience in this amazing setting, on these ancient desert lands of the Wangkangurru and Yarluyandi people. I can’t wait! ”
Jessica will headline night one of the festival. Lee Kernaghan will headline the final day with his Lee Kernaghan and the Legends of Country show to mark the 25th anniversary of his debut album ‘The Outback Club’.
“Celebrating my 25th anniversary at the Big Red Bash, an iconic outback music festival, with a bunch of my mates from throughout my career, is going to be an event to remember,” says Lee.
“We are putting together a huge show that will be an epic celebration of 25 years of The Outback Club… and what better place to do that than in the Simpson Desert at the most remote music festival on the planet.
“I’m looking forward to sharing this amazing experience with everyone who makes the legendary outback journey to Birdsville. Bring on the Big Red Bash!”
The second night of the event will feature Mark Seymour & James Reyne. “I always love playing both The Big Red Bash and with Mark Seymour. Together this will be a very special event,” said James.
The Birdsville Big Red Bash is on July 4, 5 and 6 in Birdsville, Queensland.
