Jim Moginie Releases Very Midnight Oil Sounding ‘Blind Devotion’

by Paul Cashmere on October 10, 2018

in News

Midnight Oil guitarist Jim Moginie has released a new song ‘Blind Devotion’ under Jim Moginie and the Family Dog.

Jim created The Family Dog back in 2006 for his ‘Alas Folkloric’ tour. ‘Blind Devotion’ is the first taste of the upcoming ‘Bark Overtures’ album.

Jim wrote on his Facebook page, “The record has taken a while to finish but the planets lined up when I was at a loose end early this year and Kent Steedman and I reviewed 12 years of random Dog recordings, or shards of the lost historical documents as we preferred to call them. (We record a lot for recreational purposes.) And found them anything but excruciatingly dull. We found many gemstones there and pressed ahead in editing, recasting and mixing these fragments of excellence. It’s a full live-off-the-floor rock recording with certain trademark psychedelic twists which you may even find quite entertaining”.

Toto Returns To Melbourne #Review

Toto’s 2025 setlist focuses on the heritage of the band. The setlist was interesting. Compared to how it was curated for Australia in 2019 this time Toto kept to the albums of the 1900s. Mind you, there were no complaints from the audience for doing that. The biggest hits came from those early years.
