Jimmy Barnes has sent a strong message to minority group Reclaim Australia to stop using Cold Chisel’s ‘Khe Sanh’ at their rallies.

UPDATE: Bogan Australia goes into attack mode over Jimmy Barnes statement
When Jimmy Barnes learnt of the inappropriate use of the song he was horrified and pointed out that his own family is an example of the tolerant, multicultural society most of Australia is as well.
“It has come to my attention that certain groups of people have been using my voice, my songs as their anthems at rallies,” Jimmy posted to Facebook.
“I only want to say the Australia I belong to and love is a tolerant Australia. A place that is open and giving. It is a place that embraces all sorts of different people, in fact it is made stronger by the diversity of its people. If you look at my family you can see we are a multicultural family. Australia needs to stand up for Love and Tolerance in these modern times”.
Barnes had a strong message to people who use his work out of context and without permission. “None of these people represent me and I do not support them,” he said.
Reclaim Australia also broadcast John Farnham ‘You’re The Voice’ and Men At Work’s ‘Down Under’ at their rally in Brisbane.
A public broadcast of a musical work can only be done via the appropriate public broadcast license issued through APRA/AMCOS. Reclaim Australia would be legally require to take out a Casual Public Performance license from APRA/AMCOS for the use of recorded works under these circumstances.
