Jimmy Barnes ‘Working Class Boy’ Doco Has Biggest Opening Day Since Michael Jackson ‘This Is It’

Jimmy Barnes ‘Working Class Boy’ movie had had Australia’s biggest opening for a documentary since Michael Jackson’s ‘This Is It’ in 2009.

‘Working Class Boy’ is officially the biggest Australian made documentary of all time, surpassing Bra Boys in 2007.

The movie by Mark Joffe hit 220 screen across Australia and has generated over $650,000 in ticket sales.

‘Working Class Boy’ will head to DVD on 14 November. The DVD version will include unseen footage, a directors commentary and a detailed booklet.

“The positive and emotional response from fans and the general public to our film has been extremely gratifying. We’re thrilled with the box office and that cinemas are extending their screenings into a third week. The support has been phenomenal,” Joffe said.

Working Class Boy – The Soundtracks is also available through Bloodlines Music and Jimmy Barnes is gifting his royalties from the album sales for this year to help drought relief efforts.

Jimmy Barnes: Working Class Boy is available for pre-order through Universal Sony Pictures Home Entertainment from 6 September and will be released on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on 14 November 2018.
