Jimmy Buffett Is The New Headliner For Bluesfest

by Paul Cashmere on January 11, 2017

in News

Jimmy Buffett will headline Bluesfest with an Australian exclusive at Easter.

Bluesfest suffered the losses of Neil Young and Barry Gibb for the 2017 but Bluesfest boss Peter Noble is confident that the King of Margaritaville is a worthy advocate for the main stage.

Hey Parrotheads…..Jimmy Buffett is coming…..to play one totally exclusive show at Bluesfest on April 14….YES, Jimmy is coming all the way to Australia to play one show just for you! Jimmy and The Coral Reefers will be present and presenting his unique “island escapism” style at the epicentre of Australian escapism…..Byron Bay

When Jimmy Buffett isn’t sailing on his yacht, or hanging out at his beach shack in the Caribbean, he plays where and when he wants to….and he has chosen Bluesfest this time! Yes there are restaurants and hotels named after his famous song, ‘Margaritaville.’ When Jimmy does decide to go on tour, he is one of the highest grossing artists anywhere. This is a coup, and Bluesfest is proud to bring him to our stage.

We have so many legends coming this Easter (April 13-17), from Santana to Patti Smith to the Doobie Brothers….we have contemporary artists covered too…The Lumineers, the hit of Bluesfest 2016- St Paul & the Broken Bones and of course Mary J. Blige!

Grammy nominees in Gallant, The Record Company and Rhiannon Giddens, plus the KING OF THE BLUES playing exclusively….Buddy Guy, and so much more…

Bluesfest truly is the place to be this Easter, and tickets have been selling very quickly, so don’t wait too long to avoid disappointment, as with this announcement, and those coming up, this could just be our biggest year yet. Thanks for your support

Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Tour Is The End Of The Era #REVIEW

I still remember the CBS guy delivering Cyndi Lauper’s debut album ‘She’s So Unusual’ to EON-FM, the radio station I was working at in 1983. ‘She’s So Unusual’ was released on 14 October 1983, the same day as Lionel Richie’s ‘Can’t Slow Down’ and The Jam’s greatest hits album ‘Snap!’. It came out in the same week as Culture Club’s ‘Color By Numbers’. Those were the days when something important was happening every week with new music.
