Jimmy Page Confirms A New Live Led Zeppelin Album Is Coming

Jimmy Page has said to get ready for live music from Led Zeppelin.

Page talked to the folks from Music Week recently and said that, after the release of the upcoming reissue of How the West Was Won, there would be another live Zeppelin album.

This is the band’s 50th anniversary and it’s been said that there are a number of special items coming in celebration but the band has already reissued their studio catalog in deluxe sets last year so it looks like its time to dip into the live archive.

Page said “I can’t give the game away, but there’s a recording that’s another multi-track that we’ll release. It’s so different to all the other things that are out there. It’s another view compared to How The West Was Won or The Song Remains The Same. I’m looking forward to people hearing that. There’s a lot of stuff to come out, a number of releases. I’d like to say that they’ll be coming out over the next 10 years. There’s more to come for sure.”

To date, Led Zeppelin has only released three live albums (The Song Remains the Same, How the West Was Won, Celebration Day) along with a compilation of performances for the BBC. With over 500 shows over the course of their career, there has to be a lot available in the archives.

As far as a Zeppelin reunion, it doesn’t look good. Page said “I very much doubt it. You’ve just got to face facts. We’ve gone past the tenth anniversary of the 02, where we managed to do one serious concert. That’s the only thing that we’ve done for such a long time, so I very much doubt we’ll do anything else. I really think the time has gone.”
